Australia spinner Alana King has stormed back to the top of the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings, headlining a wave of standout performances across international cricket.

King reclaimed the No. 1 spot in style during Australia’s tour of the Caribbean, producing a match-winning spell of 5/19 in St Kitts.

Bowling at Warner Park, she delivered 44 dot balls in a clinical 10-over display that powered Australia to a dominant nine-wicket win and a 3-0 series sweep. The performance also lifted her to seventh in the ODI all-rounder rankings, leapfrogging Nat Sciver-Brunt.

King’s return to the summit comes just a week after being overtaken by Sophie Ecclestone, underlining the fierce competition at the top of the bowling charts.

Meanwhile, it’s been a big week for New Zealand’s batters. Maddy Green broke into the top 10 for the first time following a strong home series against South Africa, while Amelia Kerr produced one of the most unforgettable innings in recent ODI history.

Kerr’s unbeaten 179 at the Basin Reserve powered a record-breaking chase and showcased her dominance across formats. The White Ferns captain has been in sensational form, combining consistency with impact, both with bat and ball.

Across recent ODIs against Zimbabwe and South Africa, Kerr picked up 18 wickets in just four matches at an exceptional average, including a stunning 7/34. Her all-round brilliance has also translated into the T20I format, where she now sits atop the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings while continuing to rise in the ODI charts, moving ahead of Marizanne Kapp.

South Africa, too, saw positives, with Chloe Tryon and Sune Luus climbing the all-rounder rankings after steady contributions.

With dominant spells, record-breaking knocks, and all-round excellence, the latest ICC rankings reflect a shifting landscape, where match-winners like King and Kerr are redefining consistency at the highest level.
